Disc Brake
Shimano's new disc brake calipers retain Shmano's signature control through superior modulation. The BR-M975 retains an opposed two-piston design while reducing weight: The one - piece design is more compact and very stiff which results in a precise and efficient disc brake design. The titanium back plate on the new XTR brake pads are 12 grams lighter than current steel pads. Durability in the pad is also improved by 50%. Use
intarnational standard calipers for the ultimate in weight savings to achive the following rotor choices: 160mm / 180mm for the front or 160mm / 140mm for the rear.
The new XTR rotors use Shimano's patented Center Lock technology and receive a new star pattern. The new rotor also aids in improved pad life. Multiple rotor sizes are available for a variety of riding styles.

The Saint Hydraulic Disc Brake Caliper uses a 4-piston, dual-diameter design that accommodates more oil for better temperature management while maintaining superior modulation and improving pad wear.
Saint Hydraulic Servo-Wave Brake Levers improves modulation and uses an intuitive tool-free brake lever reach adjustment for on trail adjustments. A redesigned brake lever blade incorporates a more solid ergonomic construction for a more comfortable and confident grip.

The SLX Disc Brake System offers 20% higher stopping power than its predecessor (Deore LX BR-M585). The system also features improved ergonomics, direct cable routing, and tool-free reach adjustment. The Servo-Wave brake levers offer superb power and feel.
